The Chino Cultural Foundation is offering Scholarships to students within the Chino Valley Unified School District. We have scholarships that are open to any student in the district, the Youth Arts Scholarships, which are available to any student from 9th grade through college and the Gretchen Hartt McCombs Memorial Music Scholarship, which is available to a graduating senior or current college student, who is planning to major in music or music education. San Bernardino Valley Chapter (CA) of The Links, Incorporated: 2024 Scholarship Application
The purpose of the award shall be to enable and assist students who best meet our eligibility requirements, in attaining a higher education and achieving their career goals.
Eligibility
This award will be presented to an African-American resident of San Bernardino or Riverside Counties, who meets the following requirements:
1. High school senior enrolled in a public, private or parochial school.
2. Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
3. Acceptance to an accredited four-year College or University.
4. Demonstrated exceptional leadership through community service and/or involvement in extracurricular activities.
5. Completed application and supporting documents must be received by Friday, March 8, 2024 by online submission, mail to P.O. Box 7700, San Bernardino, California 92411, or e-mail to teresabrown1977@gmail.com.
6. Two letters of recommendation are required and letters cannot come from a relative or peer.
a. One by a school official or teacher at the school of attendance.
b. Church official or Community Leader who can attest to your personal character attributes.
7. Typed, double-spaced essay of at least 300 words but not to exceed (2) two pages.
8. FAFSA Confirmation page with EFC attached.
Criteria for Selection
Only completed applications with supporting documents received via online submission, mail or e-mail by Friday, March 8, 2024 shall be considered. Applications will be scored on the basis of academic performance, written essay, financial need and community service.
