Ayala Soars in U.S. News and World Reports Rankings

Ayala High School Improves Rank on the 2025-26 U.S. News and World Report Best High School List
The highly anticipated U.S. News and World Report Best High School rankings are here, and Ayala High School has moved up from the top 10% to the top 5% of all reviewed public high schools in the nation in just two years! U.S. News & World Report ranked nearly 18,000 public high schools out of over 24,000 reviewed, using six indicators of school quality: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rates. Based on these metrics, Ayala scored a 93.2, up from 89.09 in 2023, and is now ranked 1,218 nationally and 160th in the state of California!
Ayala High School offers over 25 AP courses with a 61% participation rate of seniors who take the opportunity to better prepare themselves for college. Student performance on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing and on the California Science Test (CAST) places Ayala well above average for math, reading, and science proficiency, including underserved students. The Bulldogs also boast a 98.2% graduation rate, an important indicator of how well a school is serving its students overall.
