Student Parking and Dropoff/Pickup Areas

Over the summer, district and school staff vigorously worked with City of Chino Hills personnel to arrange a safe dropoff/pickup area for families at the Chino Hills COmmunity Center across the street from campus, and additional dropoff/pickup and student parking for commuting student drivers at Community Park. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the City for its commitment to student safety and support of Chino Valley families. Their collaboration has been greatly appreciated as we navigate our initial stage of construction.

Commuting students who will remain on campus for athletic programs or extracurricular activities are welcomed to relocate their vehicle to the designated on-campus student parking lot immediately after school. While school administration will consult with staff, we encourage students to connect with coaches and group advisors so they are aware of a student reporting late for practice or a scheduled activity.

Bicycles, E-Bikes, Scooters, E-Scooters, and Skateboards

As families adjust their travel arrangements to and from campus, we understand that students may be interested in riding a bicycle, E-bike, scooter, E-scooter or skateboard to school. If a student elects to use one of these modes of transportation during the 2026-2027 school year, school administrators have shared that they must complete a Google form and Bicycle/Scooter Contract before bringing their device to school and storing it in the fenced bicycle area. The Google form and contract can be found online at Bicycle/Scooter Contract or by navigating to Students > Parking Permits & Bicycle Contracts. Completed contracts can be turned in during the back-to-school processing period.

Students will need to wear a properly fitted helmet that is fastened while operating their riding device. Pupils who ride a traditional bicycle, E-bike, scooter, E-scooter or skateboard to school without turning in a completed and signed Bicycle/Scooter Contract will be subject to disciplinary action per the Student Handbook.

While we pivot and adjust to the new parking and dropoff/pickup areas, we would like to remind families to:

• Allow for additional travel time – Traffic will be heavier than usual and the walk to campus will take longer.
• Follow all posted traffic signs – Safety is our priority! Violating laws and regulations places our community in danger and can result in ticketing for traffic infractions.
• Remain attentive to pedestrians – There will be extra foot traffic as students cross over Peyton Drive.
• Respect school personnel directing traffic – We are on the same team! The district will provide two crossing guards to assist Ayala Staff with directing traffic and crossing students safely.
• Exercise patience – We are excited that Ayala HS will receive a new Performing Arts Center, and the build will take time. Think of the end result and celebrate!
